Playing Dress Up
Saturday night was Washington, D.C.'s prom -- the White House Correspondence Dinner. According to the Washington Post, “Obama went all Don Rickles on a broad range of topics and individuals” at this year’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner. Instead of following tradition and going with self-deprecating humor, “Obama mostly spared Obama during his 14-minute stand-up routine.” [Washington Post]

Not Surprising
"I hope Mayor Daley seeks reelection. I will work and support him if he seeks reelection. But if Mayor Daley doesn't, one day I would like to run for mayor of the city of Chicago...That's always been an aspiration of mine even when I was in the House of Representatives." --Rahm Emanuel, White House Chief of Staff. Swing one way, swing another. According to reports, the White House has signed up to buy the first 100 Chevy Volts when they roll off the assembly line later this year. The Volt is the first plug-in electric car to be produced by a major American automaker. The President announced that his administration would double their purchases of hybrid cars right after announcing his plan for offshore oil drilling. [Detroit Free Press]

Joe Biden’s Locker
Jeremy Renner, the actor whose powerful performance in The Hurt Locker garnered him an Academy Award nomination this year, says if he could meet any politician out there, he'd pick Vice President Joe Biden. ""If I were to meet a politician, I would love to meet Joe Biden ... He reminds me of my father [and] of my godfather — he's affable and kind of punchy, and I think it would be a really fun meeting." [The Hill]
